Al-Madinah International University (MEDIU) participated in the National Higher Education Carnival which was held recently at AEON Kota Bharu, Kelantan on 11-12 February 2017. The first zone of ‘Karnival Jom Masuk IPT’ 2017 carnival was officiated by Dato’ Seri Haji Idris bin Jusoh, Minister of Higher Education. The education carnival was organized by the Department of Higher Education and the tagline ‘Karnival Jom Masuk IPT’ is used to motivate the school leavers to obtain accurate and timely information on various educational opportunities in Malaysia.

Through the 2 days events at the East Zone (Kelantan), MEDIU were represented by Marketing Executives; Mr. Aymen Ayub Ibrahim, Miss Nor Hanim Binti Khalil and assisted by Corporate Services officer, Miss Nur Hamizah Binti Ibrahim. They have taken the opportunity as a platform to market MEDIU’s academic programs to the prospective students in person as well as to create awareness to the public on the admission and registration requirements. The exhibition help school leavers in the east coast states of Malaysia; namely Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang to obtain more information on MEDIU and able to communicate directly with the university’s marketing officers if they are keen and interested to know the programs offer by the university.

The education exhibition is aimed at promoting and disseminating information on opportunities for higher education especially for the high school leavers holding the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM), Malaysian Higher School Certificate (STPM) or equivalent. School leavers and potential students are encouraged to bring their latest results to seek advices from the representatives upfront.

Al-Madinah International University(MEDIU) Faculty of Engineering visited the Infrastructure university Kuala Lumpur (IUKL) in Kajang, Selangor on Wednesday, 8 February 2017. The delegation visit was headed by Deputy Dean, Faculty of Engineering Asst. Prof. Dr. Omar Bahjet Abdulghafoor Al-Hadeethi and Head Department of Electrical and Electronics, Mr. Muzaphar Noman Abdulrahman Noman along with other university’s officials. The visit aim as a benchmark visit to understand the program positon in line with others competitors in the market, and whether or not there might be some areas that need some improvements according to the data collected from the benchmark visit.

MEDIU’s delegates was welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Hon Kah Wye, Dean of Faculty of Engineering & Electrical and Electronics with a detailed presentation and briefing about IUKL’s activities and various programs offered by the Faculty of engineering and the criteria of these programs  in compliance with accreditations councils and educational assurance. During the meeting, both parties identify the position of programs in areas such as the programs weaknesses and strength, discussing on common and shared issues related to academic and administrative, looking into the mechanisms and procedures followed in dealing with issues related to academics as well as gathering data in an independent manner to ensure it is consistent with the educational scopes applied in the both programs.

Al-Madinah International University(MEDIU) visited the International Shari’ah Research Academy for Islamic Finance (ISRA), Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday, 14 February 2017. The visit was led by Dean of Scientific Research, Dr. Ammar Abdulwahab accompanied by Dean, Faculty of Computer and Information Technology, Asst. Prof. Dr. Wael Mohamed Shaher Yafooz.

The visit was welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Said Bouheraoua; Deputy Director of Research, Research Affairs Department with the aims to discuss ways to develop relations between the two parties within the framework of scientific research and discussed aspects of cooperation in the field of organizing and financing activities and research projects and merely to exchange experiences to the needs of the university’s scientific research areas.

ISRA (http://www.isra.my/)  is established to promote applied research in the area of Shari’ah and Islamic finance, also act as a repository of knowledge for Shari’ah views (fatwas) and undertake studies on contemporary issues in the Islamic financial industry.

Al-Madinah International University(MEDIU) visited several Islamic government high schools(SMA) in the Selangor areas in conjunction of the Malaysian Islamic Higher School Certificate (STAM) result announcement on Thursday, 19 January 2017. Among the selected schools are SAMT Tengku Ampuan Jemaah (SAMTAJ), Shah Alam; SAMT Hisamuddin, Kota Raja, Klang; SAMTTAR Banting; SAM Jeram; SAMT SAAS Sabak Bernam; SAM Muhammadiyah Sabak Bernam and Kuliyah AdWaddin in Pekan, Pahang.

MEDIU was invited by the schools to set-up an information booth as an opportunity for the STAM school leavers to get more information on the academic programs offer as well as promotional activities by the University’s officials.. MEDIU delegates was led MEDIU’s Marketing Department headed by Head of Marketing Department, Mr. Mohd.Shahrin Ab.Rahman, Marketing Department executives namely Mr.Aymen Ayub Ibrahim, Mr. Azzam Ehsan Abduljalil Abdulrazzaq, Mrs.Faridah Baharun, Miss Nor Hanim Binti Khalil and assisted by Mr. Muhamad Iezwan Bin Ielias, Mr. Muhammad Raziq Bin Razman, Mr. Ahmad Nazrin Bin Ab Razak, Mr. Muhammad Arsyad Aslam Bin Mohammad Ali, Mr. Sayuti Bin Ibrahim, Mr. Asrul Afiq Bin Abu Husin, Mr. Megat Hibatullah Haziq bin Roslan, Mr. Aiman Sufyan Bin Aezman and Mr. Muhammad Ifdal.

The students response were overwhelming and majority of the applications received gave a positive feedback to know more on the Faculty of Islamic Sciences and Faculty of Languages academic programs.

Al-Madinah International University(MEDIU) participated in the 2nd International Conference on Recent Trends in Computer Science and Electronics (RTCSE’17) which was held on 2-3 January 2017 in Swiss Garden Hotel & Residences, Kuala Lumpur. The conference was organized by Gyancity Research Lab and Aalborg University, Denmark.

MEDIU was represented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Wael Mohamed Shaher Yafooz, Dean Faculty of Computer and Information Technology, with his research paper entitled “Topic Modeling for Clustered Textual Documents in Relational Database”.

The conference specialized in the field of computer science and electronics attracted participants from more than 32 countries aims to provide a platform for researchers an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas with the latest cutting-edge technologies. The idea of the conference is to view on what more can be done using the existing technology, as today’s world electronic and computer systems plays an important role for future’s innovation.

The Faculty of Engineering students recently organized an industrial site visit in collaboration with Proton Holdings Berhad to the company’s Vehicle Factory in Shah Alam on Friday, 16 December 2016. The visit was welcomed by Madam Norwani Ahmat, Head of Safety, Health & Environment (S.H.E) Department of Proton Holdings with a detailed presentation on Proton’s industrial and operations activities presented to the students.

Later, the faculty’s representatives and students were taken for a tour around Proton’s different facilities and department namely Multi Vehicle Factory (MVF), Engine Factory, and Safety, Health & Environment Departments. The site visit aims to provide the engineering students with sound knowledge on industrial and project’s operations are implemented throughout the process.

Al-Madinah International University (MEDIU) participated in the Regional Conference of Sciences, Technology and Social Science Conference (RCSTSS 2016) which was organized by Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) on 4-6 December 2016 in Copthorne Hotel, Cameron Highlands in Pahang. MEDIU was represented by Faculty of Computer and Information Technology representative, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Najeeb Abbas Al-Sammarraie with his conference paper entitled “Constructing Dynamic Infrastructure as a Service Model (DIAAS) According to User Preferences”.

RCSTSS 2016 provides a platform for researchers and an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas, techniques and applications in the field of physics, mathematics, life science as well as information technology which attracted more than 200 research participants with a gathering of scientifically and culturally significant features in the communications and computer engineering field.

Al-Madinah International University(MEDIU) visited the Taylor’s University at the University Lakeside Campus in Subang Jaya Selangor on Thursday,15 December  2016. The delegation visit was headed by Dean of Scientific Research, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ammar Abdulwahab accompanied by Dean Faculty of Computer & Information Technology, Asst. Prof. Dr. Wael Mohamed Shaher Yafooz and faculty’s lecturer, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mamoun Mohamad Jamous.

MEDIU’s delegates was welcomed by Emeritus Professor Dato’ Dr Visweswaran Navaratnam, Taylor’s University Pro Vice-Chancellor, Postgraduates, Research & Strategic Development in the presence of Dr. David Asirvatham, Dean School of Computing & IT and Dr. Rona Chandran, Teaching & Learning Coordinator with the aim to discuss ways to develop relations and to strengthen potential cooperation in the framework of the development of scientific research and the quality of educational care in universities and merely to exchange experiences to the needs of the university’s. During the meeting, both parties discussed on joint research between the two universities, researchers and faculty members to take advantage of the local and international trainers in the areas of various scientific research.

Al-Madinah International University(MEDIU) held a training program on ‘Leadership Skills for the Effective Supervision on 25-29 November 2016. The session was a collaboration of Mediu Centre for Training and Continuing Education and Elnajim Eltagib Training Center of Sudan held in Metro Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.

The session was chaired by Mr. Abdulkarem Mohammed Al-Rawdhi, Director of the Mediu Centre for Training and Continuing Education with nearly 26 participants with the training addressed on areas namely on building personal leadership skills, effective supervision, effective delegation skills, creativity administration, change management and such.

Al-Madinah International University (MEDIU) participated in EXCO PEMUDA 2016 Exhibition which was held in conjunction with General UMNO Assembly from 27-29 Novmeber 2016 at Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) in Kuala Lumpur. The event was officiated by YAB Dato’ Sri Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak, Prime Minister of Malaysia/President of UMNO Malaysia.

Through the 3 days events, MEDIU were represented by the Marketing Executives; Mr.Aymen Ayub Ibrahim, Mr. Azzam Ehsan Abduljalil Abdulrazzaq, Miss Nor Hanim Khalil and Mr.Tengku Mohamad Safuan Bin Tengku Senik led by the Head of Marketing, Mr. Mohd Shahrin Ab Rahman. They have taken the opportunity as a platform to market MEDIU’s academic programs to the public as well as to create awareness to the public on the admission and registration requirements.
